256 Tax Consultants was founded in 2012 by Odur Micheal, after close to a decade as an officer within the Uganda Revenue Authority working directly on assessment, audit and enforcement. He watched taxpayers lose winnable positions — not because the law was against them, but because nobody on their side understood how the other side worked.
The firm was built to be that missing side of the table. Today we serve 75+ clients — individuals, businesses and NGOs — through fifteen standardized services, each with a defined process, clear documentation, clear timelines and clear next steps. That structure, not headcount, is the difference clients feel the moment they walk in.
What we believe
Most clients come to us already in trouble — holding a URA letter they don't fully understand. So we lead with relief, not jargon: we read it, explain it in plain language, and tell you exactly what happens next. Never minimizing a problem; never amplifying fear. Calm competence.
